About CoHealth | Mission Statement

CoHealth® is a training and education company devoted to integrating behavioral health insights, approaches, and principles in the overall care of individuals - especially of older adults. We provide this training primarily through web-based interactive modules, professional newsletters, and live tele-seminars.

The CoHealth® mission is to raise the awareness of caregivers - of both professionals and lay persons - as to the importance and benefits of collaborating with behavioral health specialists, and of incorporating behavioral health principles in all aspects of caregiving.

The CoHealth® philosophy of collaboratively delivering medical and psychological services to older adults has been proven to favorably impact the individual's response to, recovery from, and management of his or her physical ailments. We are committed to this philosophy and incorporate it in all of our education and training.

We accomplish our mission by:
  1. Recognizing the role which emotional, behavioral, and attitudinal factors play in an older adult's adjustment to changes in his or her physical abilities as well as in managing and recovering from medical problems;
  2. Understanding how emotions, behavior, and attitude interfere with a patients's response to treatment and his or her outlook on life;
  3. Providing the caregivers tools, insights, and approaches to overcoming these emotional barriers and increasing the effectiveness of their care;
  4. Providing the elderly guidance and direction to face the aging process successfully and without distress;
  5. Contracting with healthcare providers, public and private healthcare agencies, and third-party payers to develop training and education programs, products, and services for older adults; and
  6. Delivering this knowledge to as broad and diverse an audience as possible through electronic media.
While we offer education and training to a variety of caregivers, the company does not provide clinical services or medical or psychological advice to its clients. Instead our commitment to the CoHealth® model results in a "help the helpers" approach, teaching caregiving solutions in a professional, cost-effective, and easily accessible manner.
